1989

Stay Sharp Gym

I qualified as a fitness instructor, and the gym owner had a cleaning company where I worked part-time. This experience led me to set up my first business.

1990

Pub Scrub

I founded the first contract cleaning company specializing in public houses. In 1997, I sold it to Elite Cleaning Services.

1998

Scoot.com

Fed up with cleaning, I joined Scoot Plc as a salesperson and quickly rose through the ranks to lead their web design sales team, experiencing incredible growth from 20p shares to £3.60. I was fortunate to invest some of my business sale proceeds into the company.

1999

Surfweb Ltd

I created a web design company and invested my proceeds from the business sale and Scoot profits. We had six designers and sold 600 websites within six months. However, this was my first significant failure. The .com bust and boom came and went, leading to liquidation and leaving me close to bankruptcy.

2000

EQ Creative Ltd

I took on one of the web designers from Surfweb and started contacting the old database of my customers, establishing a small yet profitable web design business from home. As a single parent with a two-year-old, I managed the business around my parenting responsibilities. Over the span of 20 years, I helped thousands of businesses with their digital presence.

2006

EQ Office Ltd

I co-founded an office equipment business with a business partner and quickly made large profits, which I reinvested in multiple businesses. After I left the business, it failed.

2008

EQ Electrical Ltd

I co-founded an electricians' business with my brother, specializing in building management systems, which was profitable but a very difficult contracting business that we decided to liquidate three years on.

EQ Nutrition Ltd

I co-founded a nutrition business, creating the first low-carb protein powder because our training partner was diabetic. This led to all the market leaders copying our idea. My partners bought me out.

EQ Enviro Ltd

An environmental business trying to capture the LED light marketplace, bringing electrical bills down, but we were too early to market.

2014

Business Agent Ltd t/a NextFin/NextCrowd/CrowdRating

I founded the first equity crowdfunding aggregator regulated by the FCA and raised £1.6M via my own platform to launch the business.

2017

GoGetters Ltd

I became a founding shareholder and helped create the business model of a food delivery model business that competes with Deliveroo and UberEats, now established in over 20 towns with over 500 drivers and hundreds of thousands of loyal users.

2021

Laser On Tour Ltd

I helped my partner establish the first mobile laser hair removal business in the U.K and create the only mobile training school certified by CPD.

2022

LOT Franchise Ltd

We launched the franchise model to emulate the Laser On Tour success and built innovative laser shot software to create a pay-as-you-go franchise model.

About Sacha

Who am I? I'm a father of three children and a stepfather to two more, an entrepreneur, and someone who thrives on extreme sports like mountain biking, sailing, and skiing. These diverse interests have shaped my perspective on life and business.

Family is at the core of what I cherish. The bonds we build in our personal lives can often mirror the dynamics within successful businesses. Both involve challenges, adventures, and a commitment to each other's well-being.

My journey in business spans over 30 years, during which I've set up numerous ventures and raised substantial capital for expansion. The definition of an entrepreneur, according to Google, is someone who establishes a business, taking financial risks in pursuit of profit. But I see us as more than that. We're explorers, adventurers, and problem solvers. We challenge conventions, seek solutions to every obstacle, and work to make things right.

Businesses often encounter moments when they lose perspective or get bogged down in details. My role has been to inject new energy and fresh perspectives into these situations, much like rekindling the spirit of a growing business. I think laterally and explore various aspects of business, from refining the model to forming strategic partnerships, optimizing teams, considering acquisitions, embracing technology, and securing investments. My goal is to uncover solutions to the most pressing challenges.

My entrepreneurial journey has been a rollercoaster ride with 11 different businesses under my belt. Funding them has always been a significant hurdle. In response, I built an equity and debt crowdfunding aggregator and raised an impressive £1.6 million to found NextFin, the world's first equity crowdfunding aggregator.

I continue to serve as the CEO of NextFin and NextCrowd, where we're working to reshape alternative finance and investments. We have recently moved into new offices in One Canary Wharf and are helping entrepreneurs get the funding they deserve and helping investors make the most of their money.

In addition to my many ventures, I currently lead Laser On Tour, the first mobile laser hair removal franchise in the UK, a pioneering business that my girlfriend and I co-founded after looking for a mobile solution for her. This venture ended up creating a six-figure business with no overheads. We're disrupting this rapidly growing market with our innovative approach, offering convenient and personalized laser hair removal in the comfort of people's homes.
